Morocco Imperial Cities & Sahara Desert Tour (From Fes)
Day 1: Full Day Exploring Fes
Arrival in Fes and transfer to your accommodation.
Begin a guided tour of the old medina (Fes el-Bali), walking through its narrow streets and traditional souks. Visit historical sites, artisan quarters, and viewpoints over the old Medina.
Return to your riad or hotel in the evening.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
Departure in the morning toward the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Stop in Ifrane, then continue to Azrou to explore the cedar forest and see Barbary macaques.
Drive through Midelt and continue along the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and oasis landscapes.
Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon and check into your accommodation near the dunes.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Exploration & Camel Trekking
Morning exploration of the desert region by 4×4.
Visit local villages, nomadic families, desert oases, and the village of Khamlia known for traditional music.
In the late afternoon, depart by camel into the dunes to watch the sunset.
Continue to the desert camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Merzouga – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Early morning option to watch the sunrise over the dunes.
Return to Merzouga, then depart toward Tinghir.
Walk through the palm grove and continue to Todra Gorges, where you can explore the canyon.
After lunch, drive to Dades Valley for overnight stay.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Boutaghrar – Skoura – Ouarzazate
Travel through the Valley of the Roses and pass Berber villages including Boutaghrar.
Continue along the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs with stops for photos.
Visit Skoura Oasis and continue toward Ouarzazate.
Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech
Visit Ait Ben Haddou and explore the historic ksar.
Continue to Telouet Kasbah, then cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass.
Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening.
Overnight stay in a riad.
Day 7: Full Day Exploring Marrakech
Guided tour of Marrakech.
Visit historical monuments, the old medina, souks, and main squares.
Free time in the afternoon for personal exploration.
Overnight stay in Marrakech.
Day 8: Marrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech
Departure to Essaouira on the Atlantic coast.
Explore the medina, fishing harbor, and seaside areas.
Free time for lunch and walking.
Return to Marrakech in the evening.
Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca
Drive to Casablanca.
Visit the Hassan II Mosque and explore parts of the city including coastal areas.
Overnight stay in Casablanca.
Day 10: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes
Departure to Rabat.
Visit main historical sites and coastal areas.
Continue to Meknes to explore the medina and historical monuments.
Overnight stay in Meknes.
Day 11: Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
Visit the ancient ruins of Volubilis.
Continue back to Fes for drop-off at your accommodation or airport.
