2-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Zagora
This tour takes you from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and visiting Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, the Draa Valley, and Zagora. You will enjoy a camel ride, watch the sunset in the desert, and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp.
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora
We meet at the agreed location and depart from Marrakech towards the High Atlas Mountains.
We cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional kasbahs. You will take a short walk through the village and enjoy a panoramic view from the top.
Next, we drive to Ouarzazate for lunch near the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
After lunch, we continue south via the Tizi n’Tnifift Pass (1,710 m) and pass through Ait Saoun, once part of an old caravan route to Timbuktu.
We arrive in Agdez, the gateway to the Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves and traditional kasbahs, including Tamnougalt Kasbah.
We then continue to Zagora Desert. In the evening, you will enjoy a camel ride at sunset, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in a Berber desert camp.
Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the desert.
After breakfast at the camp, you will return by camel to meet your driver.
We then drive back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, with free time for lunch.
Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon.
