9-Day Morocco Tour: Marrakech – Merzouga – Fes – Casablanca
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be welcomed by our multilingual driver and transferred to your Riad or hotel for rest and relaxation. In the evening, you can explore Jemaa el-Fna, the main square, experiencing its lively atmosphere with snake charmers, storytellers, and traditional performers.
Day 2: Full Day in Marrakech
Today you will have an optional private guided tour of Marrakech Medina with an official guide. You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Medina souks, Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. Overnight stay will be in a Riad in the Medina.
Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
You will travel through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass to reach Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, you will stop at Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate for photos and visit the Valley of Roses in Kelaat M’Gouna. Continue to Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Camel Trekking)
After breakfast in Dades Valley, the journey continues to Todra Gorges via Tinghir, with stops to admire the stunning canyon views. Lunch will be in Touroug, followed by a visit to Erfoud for local fossil workshops. Continue to Merzouga, where you will ride camels across the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to a Berber desert camp. Enjoy the sunset, traditional Berber music, and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 5: Merzouga – Khamlia – Rissani – Erg Chebbi
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes and have breakfast. Return by camel to the hotel, then visit Khamlia village to enjoy authentic Gnaoua music. Explore Rissani, the region’s largest traditional souk, and taste local specialties such as Madfouna (Berber pizza), tajines, and mint tea. Return to Merzouga for overnight stay.
Day 6: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
After an optional early morning walk to admire the desert sunrise, take breakfast and check out. Travel towards Fes, passing through Rissani and Ziz Valley, stopping for lunch in Midelt, known as the apple capital. Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, visiting the Cedar Forest in Azrou and the Swiss-style town of Ifrane, arriving in Fes in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Full Day in Fes
Explore Fes with a local guide, visiting the Royal Palace, Jewish Quarter, Tanneries, and Al-Karaouine University. You will also see traditional crafts at a ceramics cooperative and enjoy panoramic views of the Medina before exploring the new city of Fes. Overnight stay in Fes.
Day 8: Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Rabat
After breakfast, visit the Roman-Berber ruins of Volubilis, near Meknes. Continue to explore Meknes, including Bab Mansour Gate and Plaza el Hedim. Have lunch in Rabat, the administrative capital of Morocco, and visit Kasbah of Oudaias and Hassan Tower. Continue to Casablanca for overnight stay.
Day 9: Casablanca – Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Casablanca Airport. If time allows, take a short tour of the city to see Hassan II Mosque, United Nations Place, and the Coastal Corniche before departure.
