Casablanca to Marrakech via Sahara Desert Tour (4 Days)

We will start this tour from Casablanca, traveling through the Sahara Desert and visiting some of Morocco’s most famous tourist destinations. Along the way, you will explore Rabat, including the iconic Hassan Tower and the historic Kasbah of the Udayas.

We continue to Meknes, where you will visit Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Sahrij Souani Basin, and the impressive Bab El Mansour gate.

The journey then leads to Fes, followed by Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland,” and Azrou, where you will visit the famous cedar forest and see Barbary macaques.

The highlight of the trip is the Merzouga Sahara Desert, including Erg Chebbi, where you will enjoy camel trekking, breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, and a magical night in a desert camp.

You will also visit Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Benhaddou, before arriving in Marrakech.

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes

After meeting at the agreed location, we begin our journey towards Rabat. Here, you will visit the Kasbah of the Udayas and Hassan Tower.

We then continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. You will explore Bab El Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, and Sahrij Souani Basin.

Afterward, we drive to Fes for an overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, we depart towards Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Switzerland,” and continue through Azrou and the Middle Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tlghamt pass.

We will stop along the way for photos and lunch in Midelt, then travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, passing Errachidia and Erfoud before reaching Merzouga.

Upon arrival, you will relax before enjoying a camel trek into the desert. Watch the sunset over the dunes, followed by dinner and an unforgettable night in a desert camp with traditional Berber music under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, return by camel to the hotel and meet your driver.

We then head to Rissani to visit its traditional market, once a major trading center for caravans from Timbuktu.

Next, we visit Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch, we continue through the Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations called “monkey toes.”

Overnight stay in a hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, we explore the Dades Valley before heading along the Valley of Roses to Kalaa M’Gouna and Skoura.

We arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” and visit the Atlas Film Studios.

Next, we explore the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, a famous filming location for movies such as Gladiator and Babel.
