8-Day Marrakech to Erg Chebbi Desert Tour

This tour takes you from Marrakech to the beautiful Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi. You will travel through the High Atlas Mountains, visit famous kasbahs, explore valleys, and enjoy a night in the desert.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech airport. Transfer to your riad in the Medina, near Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Free time to explore the square, especially in the evening when it becomes lively with music, food stalls, and street performers.

Overnight: Riad in Marrakech

Day 2: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Departure in the morning towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka.

  • Visit Telouet Kasbah
  • Continue through Ounila Valley
  • Visit Ait Ben Haddou

After lunch, drive to Ouarzazate, known as “Hollywood of Africa”. Optional stop at Atlas Studios.

Dinner & Overnight: Hotel in Ouarzazate

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, drive through the Draa Valley with its palm trees and kasbahs.

Arrival in Merzouga. Start your desert experience:

  • Camel ride into the dunes
  • Watch the sunset
  • Dinner at the camp

Overnight: Desert camp in Erg Chebbi

Day 4: Explore Merzouga Desert

Early morning to watch the sunrise.

Then:

  • Visit nomad families
  • Stop at Tissardmine Oasis
  • Discover desert landscapes

Visit Khamlia village and enjoy Gnawa music.

Dinner & Overnight: Hotel in Merzouga

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast:

  • Visit Rissani market (on market days)
  • Stop in Erfoud (fossils town)

Continue to Todra Gorges for a short walk.

Drive to Dades Valley.

Dinner & Overnight: Hotel in Dades Valley

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, return to Marrakech.

Stops on the way:

  • Skoura oasis
  • Taourirt Kasbah

Cross again the Tizi n’Tichka.

Overnight: Marrakech

Day 7: Marrakech City Tour

Guided visit of Marrakech:

  • Koutoubia Mosque
  • Bahia Palace
  • Saadian Tombs
  • Majorelle Garden

Free time in the souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Overnight: Riad

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to the airport.
