12 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca via Sahara Desert

Day 1: Casablanca Airport – Rabat – Asilah

After meeting you at Casablanca Airport, we will drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Here you will visit the Hassan Tower and explore the Kasbah of the Oudayas, offering beautiful views over the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean.

Afterwards, we continue along the Atlantic coast to the charming town of Asilah, known for its annual international art festival. The walls of the Medina are decorated with murals painted by famous artists from around the world.

Your visit includes the Skala Fortress, where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Medina and the ocean.

Day 2: Asilah – Tangier – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we continue our journey to the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains.

On the way we will stop in Tangier, where you will visit Achakkar Beach and the famous Hercules Cave. Afterward, we drive through the scenic Rif Mountains until we arrive in Chefchaouen.

In the afternoon you will explore the charming blue streets of the city and visit Outa El Hammam Square and the picturesque Medina.

Day 3: Full Day Exploring Chefchaouen

Today you will have a full day to explore this beautiful town famous for its blue and white buildings.

You will visit:

  • Place Outa El Hammam

  • The Grand Mosque

  • The Kasbah and Museum

  • Traditional weaving workshops

Chefchaouen is also known for its traditional wool jellabas produced by local artisans.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, we depart for Volubilis, the famous Roman archaeological site. Here you will explore the well-preserved ruins and mosaics.

We then visit the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, an important pilgrimage site in Morocco.

Next we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Highlights include:

  • Bab Mansour Gate

  • Moulay Ismail Mausoleum

  • Sahrij Souani Basin

  • Place El Hedim

Later we continue to Fes.

Day 5: Exploring Fes with a Local Guide

After breakfast, your local guide will take you on a guided tour through the ancient Medina of Fes, one of the largest medieval cities in the world.

Highlights include:

  • The famous Tanneries

  • Traditional ceramic workshops

  • Historic mosques and palaces

  • The bustling souks of Fes

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Merzouga Sahara Desert

After breakfast we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Stops include:

  • Ifrane, known as The Moroccan Switzerland”

  • Azrou Cedar Forest, where you may see Barbary monkeys

After lunch in Midelt, we continue through the beautiful Ziz Valley, passing Errachidia and Erfoud, until we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert.

Here you will ride camels across the dunes of Erg Chebbi to your desert camp. Enjoy a magical sunset over the dunes followed by dinner and Berber music under the stars.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Early in the morning you will wake up to watch the spectacular sunrise over the Sahara dunes.

After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga where your driver will meet you.

We continue to Rissani, a traditional town known for its lively market and historic role in the caravan trade.

Next we visit the impressive Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.

After lunch we continue through the beautiful Dades Valley, famous for its rock formations called Monkey Fingers.”

Day 8: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast we travel along the Valley of Roses to Kalaat M’Gouna and Skoura Oasis.

We arrive in Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Africa, and stop at the Atlas Film Studios.

Next we visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site used as a filming location for movies such as Gladiator, Babel, and Alexander.

In the afternoon we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) before arriving in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech City Tour with Local Guide

After breakfast, explore Marrakech, known as The Red City.

You will visit:

  • Koutoubia Mosque

  • Saadian Tombs

  • Bahia Palace

  • Majorelle Garden

  • The lively Jemaa El Fna Square

In the afternoon you will have free time to explore the Medina.

Day 10: Excursion to Essaouira

Today we travel to the coastal city of Essaouira, known as the City of the Wind.”

You will explore:

  • The historic Medina

  • The fishing port

  • Local artisan workshops

We will also visit a women’s cooperative producing Argan oil.

In the afternoon we return to Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech – Casablanca

After breakfast we drive to Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco.

Here you will visit:

  • Hassan II Mosque

  • United Nations Square

  • The seaside promenade La Corniche

Overnight in Casablanca.


Day 12: Casablanca – Airport Transfer

After breakfast we will transfer you to Casablanca Airport for your departure flight.
