3-Day Fes to Merzouga Desert Tour
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
We pick you up from your hotel or Riad in Fes in the morning.
Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland.”
Visit the Azrou cedar forest and see the Barbary apes.
Continue south through small towns and nomad villages.
Lunch stop in Midelt, famous for apples.
Drive through the Tizi N’Talghomt Pass (1907m) with stunning views of the valley.
Stop at Aoufous Palmeraie along the Ziz River for photos.
Arrive at Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Overnight in a desert hotel.
Day 2: 4×4 Desert Tour & Camel Trekking
After breakfast, explore nearby villages like Khamlia, Merzouga, and Hassi.
See local irrigation systems and gardens.
Visit Dayet Srji Lake (seasonal), home to flamingos and other wildlife.
In Khamlia, enjoy Gnawa music and traditional tea.
Have a picnic lunch with panoramic views of the golden dunes.
Meet a nomad family in a Berber tent and learn about their lifestyle.
See black volcanic rock formations and panoramic desert views near Yasmina Auberge.
In the late afternoon, enjoy a camel ride across the dunes.
Watch the sunset over the desert, enjoy dinner, a campfire, and overnight in a Berber tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt – Azrou – Fes
Wake up early to see the sunrise over Erg Chebbi dunes.
Ride your camel back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower.
Drive back to Fes through the High Atlas Mountains.
Stop in Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia, Midelt, and Azrou for lunch and sightseeing.
Arrive in Fes and drop off at your hotel or Riad.
