3-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

We will start this tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, explore the Roses Valley and the Dades Valley, where we will spend the first night.

We will then continue through Tinghir towards the desert of Merzouga for a camel trekking experience and an overnight stay in Berber tents in the heart of the dunes. After breakfast, we will return to Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

After meeting at the agreed location, we will begin our journey southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

We will pass through traditional Berber villages before arriving at Ait Benhaddou, a fortified ksar known for its stunning kasbahs and its role as a filming location for many movies since the 1960s.

After lunch at a local restaurant near the kasbah, we will continue towards the Dades Valley. Overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Tinghir – Tafilalet – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Desert Camp)

After breakfast, we will travel from the Dades Gorge towards the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we will pass through Berber villages, including Tinjdad and Erfoud, where the landscape begins to transform into the oasis of Tafilalet.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will have time to relax before starting your camel trekking adventure across the dunes.

You will spend the night in a fully equipped desert camp with traditional music. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the magical sunset and sunrise over the dunes. Overnight in Berber nomad tents.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After watching the sunrise and having breakfast, you will return by camel to Merzouga. Then we begin our journey back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate.

On the way, we will visit local Berber shops offering fossils, carpets, lamps, and leather goods. We will also pass through Todra Gorge and Boumalne Dades before arriving in Ouarzazate in the afternoon.

After a short visit, we continue our drive back to Marrakech.
